All Good Things Must Come to an End…
Well…Day 4 is turning out to be a fantastic wrap-up to a great week here at Dreamforce 2010! Last night was incredible with former President Bill Clinton at a general session providing some great insight on technology and its impact on today’s world. Be sure to check out some video from Day 3 here. Another highlight of Day 3 - the benefit concert with Neil Young. What an incredible time we had! And lastly, I hear the Children’s Hospital raised over 3 Million dollars! What a terrific cause!
Right now, I’m off to the South Ballroom for a Town Hall where Marc Benioff is going to be holding a customer Q&A. Finally an opportunity to ask him the all-important question: boxers or briefs! Seriously though, we’ve been meeting a lot of companies who have shown a good deal of interest in iLinc’s salesforce.com integration, iLinc for Salesforce 2.5, and have received some great feedback. Everyone is really excited to see our new Chatter integration. The word we’ve been getting is that iLinc for Salesforce is really helping companies dig deeper into the data to learn more about their prospects and shortening the sales cycle. Great to get so much positive feedback!
And don’t forget – we still have a scooter to give away. For those that were lucky enough to find Rich Kline and take a picture with him (www.whereisrichkline.com), you’re going to have a great chance at driving away with a brand new Mio 50 scooter! And even if you didn’t find him, you’ll still be in the running. Not to mention, we’re giving away another one (yes, that’s two scooters) for those who swiped their badge at our booth #324. So stay tuned, because you may be the recipient of an awesome free scooter!
Day Two – Dreamforce in Full Swing
For those of you who weren’t there, Stevie Wonder closed out the first day’s events and he didn’t disappoint…what an end to a great day! (click here for some video from the day) It was fun-filled and action-packed. We were able to meet a lot of great people from organizations around the world. All were really excited to see our latest Salesforce.com integration – iLinc for Salesforce 2.5. They were all enthusiastic about their chances on winning the free scooter too! Check out some photos of the events…there’s also a few of Stevie Wonder during his performance!
Day two at Dreamforce so far hasn’t disappointed either. The day started with Marc Benioff’s Keynote where he discussed the latest acquisition of Heroku. Heroku, for those of you who aren’t familiar with them, is the number one platform for Ruby – the same console database.com was built on. With more than 1 million developers using Ruby, it is helping produce more than 3,000 new apps a week! Benioff is calling Heroku its “seventh cloud.”
We also saw BMC software take the stage to discuss RemedyForce, an app for IT services management. Force.com 2 was also discussed as the symbol for the new Internet. Appforce, Sitefore, VMforce, the new ISVforce and now Heroku make up Force.com 2. Looks like they’re building out quite the arsenal for developers!
Additionally, we also heard some great use cases from Accenture, Blackboard, Belkin, Kelly Services, Avon and Deloitte to round out the Keynote. Take a look at some of the photos. Our President & CEO, James Powers, also bumped into Marc afterwards (see pic attached).
For a rebroadcast of today’s Keynote, go to Salesforce.com/live. They’re replaying it from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. PT tonight.
We’re still here at booth #324 for a few more hours talking to prospects and customers alike, and are giving them a tour of our web collaboration solution – iLinc for Salesforce 2.5. And don’t forget to check out www.whereisrichkline.com to see who’s tracking down Rich Kline. There are a few of you out there who are taking the lead by tweeting their picture with him and getting two extra entries into the free scooter giveaway – - Keep it going!!
Starting to get excited for the big benefit concert tonight for the Children’s Hospital. Who’s playing you ask? Well, it’s none other than Neil Young! You may have heard of him!?! Can’t wait. See you there!
Dreamforce 2010 – Off to a Great Start!
It’s turning out to be a content-packed day at DF2010! The keynote with Marc Benioff was fantastic! Check out some pictures of the event here. Every year, there seems to be a big announcement and this year was no exception. Steve Fischer, EVP of Technology, introduced Salesforce.com’s latest product – database.com. An enterprise cloud database? That’s right! Build tables, fields and relationships with Database.com; but it doesn’t stop there! Database.com includes a social data model, file storage, user management, authentication and development tools that make it easy to build apps. Check out the latest information here: One Database To Rule The Cloud: Salesforce Debuts Database.com For The Enterprise.

What’s next? We’ll all have to wait until tomorrow for additional announcements. Word on the street is that something big is coming and, after today’s activity, I’m sure it won’t disappoint!
Where IS Rich Kline?
We are very excited to be at Dreamforce today for the first full day of the conference! We’d like to announce a little contest with a fabulous prize – a SYM Mio 50 Scooter (two actually)! All you have to do is find Rich Kline, take your picture with him and tweet it with the hashtag whereisrichkline and we’ll do the rest. This gets you two entries to win the scooter. Another way to win is simply to visit our booth (#324)…but that’s not nearly as much fun (and only gets you one entry)! We will be giving away one scooter to a lucky SFDC employee and another to a Dreamforce attendee. You must respond Thursday on Twitter to win. Good luck!
